Jacques-Philipp Siegel studied computer science at the Technical University of Karlsruhe – today KIT – with specialization in robotics and automation, design of embedded systems and computer architecture as well as biomedical engineering, graduated with diploma. He gained practical occupational experience as software developer at Siemens AG, Healthcare Sector in Erlangen and worked as IT-consultant of medical practices between 2000 and 2007.
He started his career in the field of intellectual property in 2008. He completed his training in the field of intellectual property at a law firm in Heidelberg, accompanied by studies of general law at the University Hagen. Working as patent attorney, he was partner at a law firm in the Metropolitan Region Rhine-Neckar from 2012 to 2022.

In October 2022, Jacques-Philipp Siegel joined our patent law firm. He advises national and international clients in all fields of intellectual property, particularly regarding patent drafting, prosecution, and validity proceedings as well as enforcement of property right in litigation proceedings. 

He advises clients from the fields of physics and engineering as well as communications technology and computer science, particularly in the area of robotics and automation, sensor technology, medical technology, computer-implemented inventions (software), machine learning and neural networks, cloud-based systems and Internet of Things. He also specializes in trademark, design and licensing law.
